TechStar can provide tuned mass dampers. TechStar has been involved in the design of mass dampers for bridges and completed the retrofit of the Commodore Barry Bridge with tuned mass dampers several decades ago. The tall slender H-columns were suffering fatigue cracks from vortex shedding. By placing tuned mass dampers on the columns TechStar was able to change the resonant frequency so that when the wind blew the vibrations were eliminated and the cracking stopped.
